We don't talk about all the neat things we learned in college.

Can it be done?

Haven't learned anything in college because I haven't graduated high school. Done?

Hey VA, what are you doing now? I think you posted in the other thread but too lazy to look it up and that thread is ++sux now.

I haven't learned much practical knowledge in the past year.

I'm at the University of Virginia studying Engineering. Majoring in either Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. The two majors only have about 10 classes difference between them.

EDIT: o shit, I just broke the thread :V

Asian kid bad at math?! Unpossible!

I learned a lot of stuff in college, but I've forgotten it all since. It's funny I had a female friend come to my house about a month ago and she was like, "Wow, you have so many books!", and then she walked over and pulled Being and Time off the shelf and said, "This is a pretty big one, what's it about?" I was like, "Uh...something about dasein?"

Ha, I kind of like heidegger. Though granted even when you're reading him it's hard to say exactly what he's about. I was reading introduction to metaphysics on christmas at denny's and this couple started talking to me about massage school and pilot pens

I took a pretty intense Heidegger class senior year of college where we read most of Being and Time. It was really interesting and I did learn some things, but it would be dishonest of me not to also mention that I bought two "Interpreting Being and Time" books to read at the same time I was taking the class. But I'll be damned if any of it really stuck with me. At least nowhere near as much as Nietzsche or the classical philosophers did.

Eh, that's because Nietzsche is jubilant while heidegger just talks about etymology all the time.

It's funny because I only skimmed the OP, and failed to read the word "don't".

heh

So my coffee addiction of last semester may have been replaced by a pepsi addiction this semester.

I don't know what to think about this.

edit-also that Freshman 15 thing is bullshit. I lost like 20 pounds during August and 1st semester, I actually gained like 10 pounds back during break.

Yeah, I lost a lot of weight over the summer because I didn't live in the dorm or at home and had to cook for myself and spent my money on cigarettes instead of food.

I'm also growing really found of diet mountain dew, even though it's really gross.

It's just so much fun to call it DMD while pouring in liquor of choice. It's become my go-to mixer.

I mean, that's all we do though, is try to out-smart each other and compare our schedules.

I dunno- the longest break I've had from classes since I started school is like two weeks, so it's kind of a constant presence in my life. Not much is happening outside of the school sphere that isn't somehow affected by it, so it makes sense to me that I talk about it.

It directly relates to The Source, though.

I'm a public administration major. :V

All the fun techniques I learn will be utilized in operating this here website.

Imagine.

Mayor PK, and the city of Source, and the chaos that it would be.

Ha- my course of study helps me to understand how to undermine oppressive systems.

How would that help you attack an excessively unorganized system based on the whims of a madman?

I think there is an incredibly long history of such systems, in fact.

PariahKing

But they are not oppressive. They are more cute and harmless. It'd be like if you stuck Fidel Castro in charge of a McDonalds with no ethics laws.
