Because opening and closing threads is a pain in the ass, I've created a new usergroup for Gamemasters. They are able to open and close threads that they have started, but the powers are not yet local. However, opening/closing your own thread isn't really that easy to abuse or disrupt, and if they do its easy to correct. This will be our fix unless CP can think of something better to do.

Could you make it so that the Gamemaster powers only apply in the game boards, and then give them to everyone?

You've got an hour.

EDIT: Or really, you could technically keep the powers because I just kinda handed you unlimited power and you could easily de-admin anyone to oppose you before I de-admin you :V

Meh, probably better in your hands anyway

You probably don't have meta-admin powers, Van. Regular admins can do everything except multiply themselves.

The correct term would be superadmin, which only JB is. When a regular admin admins someone, they don't get any more power than a supermod, AFAIK.

Anyhow, there are probably better ways to do it (and I was near to knowing what local mods can and can't do), but it wouldn't give them their colored name. Plus, if we'd do local mod powers we would have to reconfigure them every time, and I'm lazy.

We really need some kind of mafia queue system.

I have fixed the Gamemasters group so that they can only open/close their threads in this forum. Forum permissions do rock.

Note to self and future admins: You MUST add the Gamemaster group as a secondary group. If it's set as the primary group, the user will not be able to see any other forum. To make sure the user has a colored name, edit the user again and set the display usergroup to "Gamemasters". The user can do this himself via the User CP as well.

This is sweet for reason Van understands. I request to be forever left a Gamemaster.

Yeah, I was thinking about something like that. I would probably want to give you the powers to manage gamemasters. I think the best way is to make Gamemasters a joinable group and make you the group leader.

The name color is a nice touch. :)

Yeah, though it's rather unneeded almost everywhere except their own threads (to "signify" GM posts). Van wanted it, so I kept it.
