Can anyone tell me how the hell it's constitutional? Looks to me like the most partisan, blatant violation of the first amendment since the sedition act. All the defense I've seen about it has to do with "a public right to information" or "public ownership of airwaves" (which don't exist) trumping free speech (which does exist) in some contorted logic of benefitting the public good (which also doesn't exist).

Regardless of if its constitutionality, I think it's funny they think it's enforcable. How would one realistically enforce it at anything but the higher tiers of the media?
Here's a more important question: Who determines what COUNTS as fair?
fake edit: upon reading the article, I also find it funny that Congressional Dems want to push it through even though Obama is opposed. Go figure.

It's trying to get pushed through again. Anyone notice how it magically only applies to radio, the one media medium dominated by conservatives, and is always pushed through by democrats.

We're probably far better about not being imperialistic than Britain, France, Russia, Spain, Germany, Italy, the Turks, the Chinese, or the Persians ever were. The big problem isn't due with the fact that America is ebul, it's more due to the fact that America is a powerful nation in a hemisphere of weak nations.

Yeah kinda I couldn't really care about theoretical legislation.
But what about theoretical legislation TO HURT THE REPUBLICANS?
To be fair to Obama the stimulus bill has included, hidden in it, a lot of really good legislation in regards to our retarded relations with Cuba, which means that my Cuban-American relations teacher has admitted that the class will likely not be as interesting anymore, because he soon won't be able to complain about how dumb our laws towards Cuba are.
