I saw it last night. It was actually pretty good, which is saying something since Neil Gaiman usually just disappoints me.
Anyone else saw it?

I haven't seen it because I don't like Tim Burton.

I haven't seen it because I don't like Tim Burton. Are you serious or are you twelve?
(See, it's like "is she hot or is she twelve," but not. Funny, particularly since Coraline is 11.)

Tim Burton is very hit or miss for me.

Sorry I don't jerk off to Tim Burton's artistry.

Sorry I don't jerk off to Tim Burton's artistry. No no, you misunderstand:
Coraline isn't by Tim Burton. He didn't have anything to do with it.
EDIT: Though re: Burton, of his stuff, I only really liked "Big Fish" (which I really really really really like), though"Corpse Bride" gets an honorable mention.

In the commercials it all said by the creator of The Nightmare Before Christmas...

I thought that too. Maybe they meant the executive producer? o_O

According to Wikipedia, Henry Selick directed both.

:huh:Director. Which was Harry Selick. Burton wrote "Nightmare."
So you can see it now!

Still skeptical.Eh, see it when it comes out on DVD then. It starts a bit slow, but it's got a lot of really good stuff in it. Plus the cat is badass.

It was pretty mediocre.
If you do go see it, definitely don't waste your money on the 3D version. I felt ripped off because I had to wear the 3D glasses over my regular glasses the whole time, and they utilize it maybe 3 times in the whole movie. Other than that it's just used to kind of add extra separation to the foreground and background.

Not that Coraline was any good, people jsut go DURR HURR Tim Burton about it all of the time and I don't get it because nowhere is it ever mentioned that Tim Burton had anything to do with that movie.
I still need to see Big Fish. I heard very good things about it. I quite enjoyed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

But you know they advertised it that way on purpose to get people to think Tim Burton did it so they would go see it.

They advertised it as "By the director of Nightmare Before Christmas," which is true, and no different from how they usually advertise this sort of thing when the director isn't widely known by name.

I'm pretty sure it said the creator but whatever.

I thought it was Tim Burton until I saw this thread so you may have a point.
