Mafia roles, leaving messages for someone who is not currently online, and wanting to communicate with someone who has msn/aim when you use the other.

Though I've quickly learned that people who use msn and not aim are people that I don't want to talk to :V

Yeah, but that wouldn't amount to several hundred pm's, that'd be a few here and there like I have. To have several hundred it means you're likely chatting via pm's. Which I can't really understand.

Also about chat programs, it's not hard to find clients that cover both.

Yes, but I don't want to register an account that I'll use to talk to one person whose company I wouldn't really enjoy anyway. MSN chat really annoys me. I only use Trillian because I prefer its interface and options to AIM.

But yes, I still don't get why people constantly go back and forth on PMs. I guess its the same reason why people send txt messages, write on Facebook walls, email each other, and send PMs all to the same person they see on a daily basis.

Oh man I love instant messaging one of my housemates when he's just in his room and I'm in mine. It's so pointless but fun.

And I have msn and aim set up because I have RL friends from highschool on each client, so I need a way to keep track of them both. It's not like it's really inconvenient making a aim/msn addy on trillian or other clients, so I never really thought of it as a problem. The only reason I don't like msn is sometimes it seems to discon me from it randomly even when my AIM accounts are still chugging along just fine.
