They were bad in that they let the infrastructure collapse, people bait and flame, and basically drove people off. Hell, I considered leaving more than once because of Ben. At least here I can figure out what to expect from him.

I don't remember exactly. All I know is that something really stupid happened (probably to do with Shadow beign the worst mod/admin/fascist in the world) and some guys left because they got butthurt, and then Razor got pissed because other people made his friends leave and he got butthurt and then he left, and then all of the people who were like "All hail Razorborne" left because he was the reason they joined in the first place.

And then the trolls came. What was left was easy pickins.

Unfortunately I only realized that after he was a bitch and freaked out the second time. When he was a bitch at WotC it seemed normal because everyone and their uncles were doing that sort of shit at the time.

Otherwise, it's ok.Well, 90% of the cards in YMTC are about as retarded as the one I posted, and instead of people saying "that's fucking retarded, your card doesn't make sense, and illustrates at least 10 different principles of bad design" they post about how it might be over/under-powered and maybe the OP should remove one of the abilities.

Oh, and the ones with more time on their hands make "sets" of these gems. Those maybe aren't quite as bad, but still pretty shitty and probably feature at least 5 new shitty keywords.

What's not to hate? :V

That part makes me lol - I love to see links in people's sigs, "Check out the set I designed - Shitaria!" - all I can think of, is who in their right mind would have the time or the desire to do that? I guess if you're young, stupid, and bored, it's a different story, though.

I posted at YmtC for a very brief while, but the cults of personality and srs biz kind of sucked the fun out of it. The Storylines board was full of similar hilarity. But WM pretty much took the cake. I've never seen so many people care so much about so little.

I've always wanted to do that, but I've never had the motivation to actually complete a set. I don't feel the desire to accomplish this now, but I suppose the three qualities you listed factored into it.

When I actually played magic I posted exlusively in YMtC, being bored by deckbuilding and rules questions primarily because the way me and my friends played if we didn't know the rule we made it up and also because I don't like spending money so I just made decks with the limited cards that I had.

Anyway, I realized that people there had too much time on their hands, so instead of joining contests the majority of the posts that I made in early 2005 were in a thread called "Make a Card based on the Person Who Posted Before You."

And then my friend told me about the Rec Room + RRPG, and I was at home ever since.

I don't know where I'm going with this.
