View Full Version : You know when you're in college but on break
and you see your old high school friends and it's really awkward because you don't know what to talk about?
Yeah, that's the feeling I'm having here. I don't use this name anymore, I've forgotten nearly all of the (terribly like HOLY SHIT) bad jokes we have here, I'm not really the same guy as I was when I first logged on.
Fun fact-Around the end of senior year, we got notes we sent ourselves from Freshman year. I skimmed the first part and when it started talking about the Source I threw that shit in the garbage.
I forsee this whole thing going rather badly.
Don't worry about that. We're all different people now. I'm not the same as I was before, either. I haven't said a word to almost anyone except Jeremy in at least a year. I'm just going with the flow, and yeah, it's a bit awkward, but hell, I post on forums where I know people less than I did here and it was fine. It takes time.
But maybe you've changed to the point where you don't need this in your life, and that's different, so whatever.

it's awkward seeing high school friends?
i generally see them places other than school, since most of my high school friends go to the other 2 universities in the city. when it does happen, we generally end up hanging out or something, though.

I pretty much hang with my high school friends whenever I head back home on break. Almost non stop too, we're all pretty close. We keep in touch via the power of internet when we're at out respective schools, it's not really that hard.
Course I have a new set of friends here that I live with, but that doesn't mean I had to ditch my old ones.
JB and Shady are the only people I ever talked to still on The Source, and even then only occasionally. But I still remember most of you guys so I don't have a problem posting.
The problem was that most of my friends were older than me, so when they graduated I basically had to settle with a bunch of really shitty, really drama'y friends. Basically when I come back to my hometown, I avoid anyone in my grade or lower.
really shitty, really drama'y friends
So is that what you're saying about us?
So is that what you're saying about us?
Naga.
I have something to tell you.
It's your baby.
edit-in all seriousness, it was '07, '08 in senior year, which was roughly when we had died.

Chance is the only one I talk to anymore besides vel which happens even more rarely.
This is funny though and weird.

I have talked to PK.
That's pretty much it, I guess. I was planning on getting to Zerg when Starcraft II releases.
As far as my high school friends go, I still see them now and then. It's not bad talking to them. Different, though. As far as this forum goes, it annoyed me at the end. Perhaps time has actually made it better.

I don't talk to anyone I knew in high school anymore. That shit was like, 10 years ago, man. I actually talk to my college friends more often, but I imagine it will be a different story when we're 10 years out of college too.

I avoid my high school friends like the plague.
I'm with Dan. I was a loser in high school and so were my friends.
Of my 3 best HS friends, one went into the Navy (he's an alright dude), one went to VCU and catches pigeons and walks around campus with them, and the third is taking hormone therapy to become a woman and attending community college.

3rd sounds best.
And it's not like my friends and I were losers- I didn't go to school with many of my friends so "we" didn't really figure anywhere into social hierarchies, since they occurred on an intra-school level.

What's with you people hating your highschool friends? Why'd you hang out with them in the first place if they were retarded?

They weren't retarded- they were just the closest to what I wanted at the time. Now I have found people that work better.

Mine were fine. They just all either moved away or started families and don't have much free time anymore.

The ones who I actually chose I'm ok with; it's the ones I picked in senior year just for the sake of having company that I don't like.
Edit:
where the fuck is the smilie with a lot of heads that jumps up and down?WotC boards this way

Even ones I hardly ever see in person I chat online with frequently.

That's because they're douche bags like you who think they're too good for an instant messenger.
Come to think of it, I'm not sure if I've ever seen you on aim/msn.
