I'm a mac user without boot camp or parallels software.
Deu 1:22 And you came near to me, every one of you, and said, Let us send men before us to go through the land with care and give us an account of the way we are to go and the towns to which we will come.
You have boot camp. It comes with Leopard. Unless you're still using Tiger.
I just don't see how this is ironic.

He was named "Magic Workstation" some while ago, which, I assume, only works on Windoze.
Oh.
Yeah, that's a bitch. I have to boot into Windows whenever I want to play.

I run Tiger. It's lame, because we have Leopard, but nothing to transfer all of our files to so that we can restore after the transfer wipes the disk.
You don't have to erase your drive to install Leopard. You can do either an upgrade, or there is an option to move your home folder and applications aside while it updates everything.

Well fuck.
I wouldn't suggest upgrading, especially with an older system, one that has had the same OS install on it for a long time. I've had no problems with the archive and install, though.
