Awful deck idea #129398:

Sway of the Stars + suspend creatures (e.g., Deep Sea Kraken).

Difficulty: Sway of the Stars costs 10 mana. Any reasonable way of reducing and or negating the cost that isn't completely obvious (a la Sapphire Medallion, Sunscape Familiar, and the like)? I was thinking Jhoira of the Ghitu, but I don't want to telegraph what I'm doing that much and give people a chance to hold counters for it.

Also, this is a multiplayer deck, so I'm thinking Kraken will probably come out fast after suspending it, so I'm not sure that just waiting until I hit 10 mana is even really an option.

1. Start playing Elder Dragon Highlander.
2. Do it now.
3. Pick Jhoira as your general.
4. Replace Sway with Obliterate &co.

Spellweaver Helix? Well, you'd need discard for that. You could try the blue Hideaway land from Lorwyn but I think that one triggers off milling, so that'd be kinda silly.

Just play Dream Halls. Or Sakura Tribe Elder.

g/U with massive mana excel shouldn't have a problem hitting 10 mana relatively consistently relatively quickly (with respect to casual).

You could also go U/R and try to seething song/etc/mana seism your way into 10 mana. I think Red has that massive suspend fatty too but I stopped playing around that time.

Fun fact, I actually started playing a gimpy standard heartbeat long before I saw anyone else doing it in standard. I played it on modo for a few weeks then I saw tweaked (and better) builds popping up all over the place and I was pretty fucking proud.

It coulda been complete coincidence though.

Try the hideaway lands from Lorwyn. The condition of the white and red ones should be easy enough to activate.
