I like them, but they might need a few more answers for Limited. Pretty much unless you open O-Ring, you're kinda ffffed if there's a stalemate.
Yeah, I got ffffed by Nicol Bolas. I had sat there for 7 turns colour screwed, but when it hit me, it hit hard!
Totally not killing magic.

JvC? I bought it. I regret my decision.
JvC? I bought it. I regret my decision.I said she's hawt, never said the decks are worth 20$ :V
I didn't buy the set, but one of my friends did because he likes to spend extra money at release tourneys and was drooling over that FoF. Since conflux is a terrible set and we both went 1-2 drop, we ended up playing the JvC decks for the next 2 hours or so.
They're really well balanced and actually have better cards than your average precon.

Yeah, they do. The problem is I already had most of the cards. I owned about 3/4 of all the blue cards that one would actually play, so I don't know. I regret buying it, since the cards I would have bought it for I already owned. I also realised that I hate promo cards like that. I'd much rather play an Invasion FoF than a JVC.
I actually like Conflux, but I prefer triple Shards to less Shards and more Conflux. I went 1-2 drop, though, too. We should be friends or something.

Are you guys just terrible at magic or something? I've never been to a pre-release where I didn't split at the match for first place, and I wasn't even that good at the game.

I'm not exactly sure what "splitting" means, but
I've been playing for maybe 8 years, but I was only a kid then, and I was just fooling around with my friends. Last year, I started to play again, more seriously this time. I only just started going to tournaments, and have played any sort of limited less than 10 times, so I'm not the best at it, although I hit the top 8 at an FNM once. The point is, I'm not terrible, the Conflux prerelease was by far my worst tournament though. Most of my others were, idk, 4-2, around that ratio. I just built a really shitty deck that day.

If you don't know what splitting means you're not playing seriously enough.
But what splitting is is when you get to the final round in just about anything that's not major enough to offer of prize money/fame directly, you agree to pool first and second place prizes and split them evenly. You still have to play out the match though because most of the time apack split on a draw in such a case actually nets you less than pooling then dividing them manually.

Oh.
No, I'm not that serious, although I did that once. I didn't say I was serious, I said I was starting to play more seriously. I'm advancing at a fast pace.

I don't know whether or not you're taking me seriously and it's kind of making me feel bad.
I'm not very good at this.

It was a release event, not prerelease, so just one single tournament, not multiple flights. Also, I'm willing to bet your mom's kidneys that my meta is tougher than yours. Oh, and I hate sealed because I open jank 90% of the time and I can't pass it off for not jank, like in a draft.
...did I mention "no u"?

Yes, planeswalkers totally killed the traditional "I play Magic" feeling.

Meh, I go to prereleases to have fun. Winning is a side show. Then again, we only have one day-long event.

Well yeah but it's not like you open a different set of cards because your a casual? Why isn't finding synergy and maximizing the potential of your cards entertaining?

Yes.
Its mostly the stylistic, useless rulings that I don't really like. Sure, the 0 life and you can still live until end of phase is NOT intuitive, but I always felt that rule was, well, magical. You could tap your city of brass to pay for you healing salve when you were at one life because YOU'RE A GOD DAMN MAGICIAN. The "Mogg Fanatic" ruling still doesn't make sense to me, damage goes on the stack and spells and effects can still be played before damaged is applied and it still is even if my guy is dead on resolution of that damage? Who's the fucking magical one now?So how did mogg fanatic work before 6th edition? :/
You couldn't sacrifice him and have him do combat damage? Could you sac him in response to instants?

I just looked it up, and I am amazed. Counterspell was alot harder to play with I assume...

^Aye; because counterspells were interrupts, which were faster than instants, thus you could only respond by casting another counterspell, or dark ritual (lol?).
Now that I think about it, damage going on the stack is a really unflavourful rule and clunky rule. Why didn't they just merge "assign damage" and "deal damage" in one action. Sure, it would nerf Healing Salve, but who cares?
Also, Nantuko Husk being able to eat itself is a stupid mechanic. :V

I've never played with interrupts, that should explain my stupidity.

No. Mogg Fanatic could not kill an x/2. Its been years since I've even read 5E rules, but I'm pretty sure it had to do with the fact that he didn't deal combat damage if he died before damage resolved. Could be wrong about that though, I just remember people being like "he's good now!!!!"
You could always do the second thing.
Wat.

Naga changed it, but I really did link to a goatse website.
Also re: planeswalkers. They rule. One time I got both Elspeth and Ajani in a draft. It ruled.
