Yeah, those are ®®®®ing intense. Apparently there were major issues on the set of Three Kings with George Clooney, too, but both Clooney and Tomlin are sort of prima donnaish, so I wouldn't put the blame squarely on his shoulders.

It was actually really, really good. I expected it to be a hurr durr dark romantic comedy, but the movie had this brutal sincerity that I couldn't resist. Plus, I am absolutely boners for: Patrick Fugit, Shannyn Sossamon, Eugene Hütz, Will Arnett, and Eugene Hütz again because frankly he deserves a second mention.

Is it still about racism, or does watching it as an adult show that it's actually about freudian psychology or something.
Because I remember watching the Last Samurai and realizing how horrifically racist it was, which I did not notice as a 12 year old.

Oh God, hahaha, THEY ARE ... PERFECT.
Red Cliff. Based on The Battle of Red Cliff during the Three Kingdoms period in China. Was really good because it tried to be more historical than dramatic, but ended with a "To be continued" (literally), which pissed me off.
Then again, pretty much every movie in the "unthreatenig white (or whatever) man enters threatening society and succeeds better than the normal people could" genre are pretty racist and retarded, from 13th Warrior to any movie about a guy using Street Smarts to succeed at whatever.
Kingdom of Heaven is so xenophobic because it attacks the feudal political system that existed in Europe around the time of the second crusade by stating that a young man could train for a montage about of time and be able to best vassals who had trained all their life.
Am I doing this right Raynald of Chatillon?
Sorry man, I just don't like that story archetype. I realize that it's slightly nessesary to show something complex (you do so from the eyes of the beginner to explain it), but it's just not for me, I guess.

I thought it was believable because his family was such a dick to him. But yea, it did happen kind of fast, it seemed like he found he actually could stand Sue and then was suddenly at a giant family BBQ "trying" to be nice to all of them.

Blah blah blah whatever. I don't enjoy his work.
Actually, he's not the best, but he's still really good. Have you ever seen My Left Foot? Day Lewis was really good at being retarded (though you probably could just write it off as overacting if you disliked him enough).

We Are Wizards (http://www.hulu.com/watch/62149/we-are-wizards)
We Are Wizards is a feature length documentary by Josh Koury about the Harry Potter fandom. It features Wizard rock bands Harry and the Potters, Draco and the Malfoys, The Hungarian Horntails, and The Whomping Willows. The film also features Heather Lawver, Melissa Anelli, and Brad Neely.
Brad Neely was pretty funny in this.

No I haven't seen that, but it actually might help. I think part of my problem with him is that it always seems like he takes himself way too seriously.
However, I do dislike that every "serious" actor has to do an "I'm a retard" movie. I mean seriously, how does throwing food and talking like a sped prove your acting ability when it's a standard part of every 10-year-old's playground comedy routine? That's right Shaun Penn, fuck you very much.

Well he wasn't actually retarded in that sense. He was pretty intelligent in the movie, he just has cerebral palsy, which means that he has very limited movement and a severe speech impediment.

I suppose. But I don't really know how to qualify it seeing as I think some actors rightly take their craft seriously.

I feel like its one of those movies you can't watch twice. Most of the humor is either gross-out humor or just wtf is this? humor so when you know whats going to happen it just isn't as funny anymore.

I can take or leave Nic Cage, depending on the film. I remember that movie being based on an interesting concept, although now what that concept was escapes me...quickly - to the IMDB!

Batman Forever. I like Val Kilmer as Batman. And the way they reduced one of the coolest bad guys ever into a giggling moron. And the best part of all was Jim Carrey's pretentious overacting!
Actually the one part of the movie I really did like was the way they portrayed Dick, but that did not make up for the rest of the movie.

It seems to me like the schtick on this show is getting kind of tiresome. I mean I still watch it, but I'm desensitized to Michael being a moron, Dwight being a weirdo, Jim being the token normal dude, etc., etc. I dunno maybe I was just tired last night and couldn't focus enough to find it as funny as I usually do.

This (http://www.theslackerz.com/index.php?nav=Comic&Page=100), but Japanese. Think of it as exactly like the Ring; except replacing a video with cellphones and a well with a hospital and a creepy little dead girl with a creepy little dead girl - minus the part about making sense - and you'll have this movie to a tee. But hey at least the music is nice, and I can now be retro hipster by having it as my ringtone.
