First of all, yes, bun_bot is a bot. It's intended to be a satiric approach to mrs_bun's posting style. It thus posts post snippets Ц made by bun herself Ц in random threads. Sometimes this gives funny results, but apparently some (http://wut.ca/member.php?u=36) people don't have sense of humor.
Since I've first deployed the bot, I've tweaked it somewhat to address some issues. I've bumped the delay between post attempts to 2 Ц 3 minutes. notallama suggested a more advanced posting scheme, where it would lurk for a while, and then post more, etc. I haven't implemented this (yet).
I have also made the bot more keen about what threads to post in. Now, it will check the new threads page and only post in those. Due to this, double posting is essentially non-existent, and the bot will no longer bump old threads.
Some people have jokingly suggested that the bot should replace bun as a whole, or The Source for that matter. I might plan on adding post snippets from other people if that is what those people would like.
Also, FYI, this wasn't my own idea; Jenius mostly thought it up, and I've had some help from JB and others. If the majority of TS doesn't have a sense of humordoesn't like the bot, I won't run it. Else, I'm thinking of letting it go loose (it only runs when I tell it to), so that it can actually respond to people more quickly. But then again, that might be disrupting. Possibly, it should be opted out of posting in certain forum (it can't post in mature, by the way), so that it doesn't run into actual discussions.
