"I pledge to be respectful, honest drivel..."
I signed with an X.
My dad just got an email.

Neither the administration nor my parents actually know how to react.

Honor is important. Just because they won't take it seriously doesn't mean you don't have to.

Unless you can leverage them, and never just for fun. :)
Well, the way I see it...
a. If you follow this kind of stuff, what's the problem with signing it?
b. If you don't, what's stopping you from signing and then breaking those rules?

If you're not doing anything illegal, what's wrong with the government searching through your shit?
BY the mere fact that we have an honor code, we can get some nice benefits. Like if you're way too drunk, you can have a cab billed to the school to take you home on the assumption that you'll pay them back eventually.
Plus it's really easy to steal stuff :V

Did anything actually come out of this or did no one care about your monumental act of rebellion?

Everyone was a bit perplexed, and realized that they couldn't technically do anything. I'm actually disappointed.

If you don't sign it at all, what's the worst that they can do to you?

At my school, its expulsion if the teacher really wanted to be a dick about it. All students are required to follow the honor code to not lie, cheat, or steal. A violation of the honor code is instant expulsion, as we run on a single sanction system.
