So, anybody else think the Jews complain too much about their genocide?

Yeah. Also, I'm jewish. (Seriously, not kidding at all)

I mean really, Hitler gave warm places for my cousins and nieces when they were poor because of war, and then people complain? lol.
I know that the French only because aware of how bad the Vichy government was about Jewish death camps during the 70's.
But Adenauer basically put all of his politics around not doing what Hitler did, so I'm pretty sure Germany's death camps became public knowledge around the late 40's, early 50's.
The amount that other states allow it to happen is still kinda shaky--Romania, for example, still says it didn't kill any Jews, though what they did was send them off to the Ukrainian death camps.

I found the answer somewhere else guyz.

I do too, and I'm Jewish as well. I mean, it was really awful, yes, but basically everyone involved is dead and there isn't anyone left alive to blame for it, so we should just let it die. Of course, it should be kept alive like the rest of history, there just shouldn't be a class at my school called "The Holocaust."
If you want to have a genocide class, be my guest. But why single out that one?

I believe the Allies were aware of the death camps even during the war, though they never used it that much for propaganda and the reality of them probably didn't occur upon everyone. Everybody else probably found out about it quickly after the war, when the pictures from the discovered death camps came in.
I think it is important that the Holocaust is remembered and that people know about it and its horrors, but the problem I see is that it is, for a large part, used as Israeli/Jewish propaganda and that is very bad.

Yes, I found documents that said that the Allies knew about the death camps in late 1942, but they didn't use it for propaganda because they didn't want to make World War II a Jewish War. It was just that I wanted to know when the knowledge of the camps became "public" because I have to argue for my History Class that the Allies did enough to stop the Holocaust once it became public knowledge.

Pfft. As far as I know, they did diddly squat, so have a lot of fun arguing that. Not that they had a lot of options. I guess they could've bombed the camps, but I'm pretty sure that wouldn't have the desirable effect.
So who heard the one about a million jews and the clown?

I agree.
All genocides regardless of degree are terrible. I just feel that there are a lot of Jews that think their genocide means more than others.

Whenever news of a genocide breaks into the media, there is a fervour of people wanting to stop it, save the people. Two current ones I can think of are in Sri Lanka and Gaza. Everyone is up in arms about it, because its popular. Hardly anyone actually cares, they just want to be trendy.
Why give preference to Gaza when more people have died it Darfur?

I don't think you realize something about the way people percieve human beings
1 white person = 10 Latin Americans = 100 Muslims = 1000 Asians = 10,000 Africans
When you think about the 6 million Jews who died in the Holocaust, it's really equal to 60 billion black people.

Sri Lankan genocide sympathizing must be a Canadian thing, because I don't know anyone that gives two ÷÷÷÷s about that.

Seconding this.
When you ask a person if Hitler was bad they are going to say he was horrific. If you name anybody else who was involved in a different genocide they are going to say it's bad but no Holocaust.

the main difference i see is that the holocaust is funny now.
the current genocides are not so hilarious. (jokes can still be made, but fewer of them work)

Things are less funny when there's rape involved.

What's the difference? The point is the public wasn't as well aware of it, and it's not as attached.

It was visible to the people who survived it. Public knowledge is not a good yardstick.

Yes it is, when the thing being measured is public knowlege.

Question! Why is that that every time I turn on the Source, I see the same five posts fifteen times a day for three months? Funk dat!
I'm guessing this is not the song you had in mind.

Okay, bad terminology.
We aren't measuring public knowledge, but our private knowledge of the remaining record of what was public knowledge.
