For context, the son loses a penny that was a gift form his father. Big deal ensues, kid is like yo dad, the penny meant a lot because I love you. This scene is a conversation between the parents, who discuss how meaningful it was what their son said. It should be overly dramatic and foolish. Lots of metaphors and good englishy stuff like that.
