So, you can scry for 1, or fateseal your opponent for 1 to increase loyalty, or you can just Brainstorm every turn. Alternatively you can bounce the shit out of creatures, or just stall out to a massive decking.

Seems fair.

Yeah, Magic really needs to scale the fuck back. I mean, when I look at a 4/3 for 3 without a drawback and say "Well, this is an eh card", then there is probably an issue.

Three unsummons at sorcery speed for 4 is meh.

His ultimate is useless, since it would take 5 turns of doing something really shitty in order to build.

Of course, all of these are on one card, so that makes it slightly better, but when each of the four abilities is unimpressive, the card is still unimpressive.

I know you're being phecicious but the people you're making fun of aren't so I'm going to pretend this is a serious statement.

I never did get this argument. By that logic, it'd be okay to print a 20/20 for 1G or whatever, creatures should be balanced against each other. You could say it doesn't matter how powerful one is because it dies easily to removal unless it actively dies more easily (like one of the sac it if it's targeted abilities).

I think that argument is true to an extent - it's part of the reason why, for example, Krosan Colossus is bad.

But someone will put it into better words than me. Maybe investment of tempo/resources vs. rewards?

The problem is, as I've always seen it, is that your deck is either setting the tempo of a game or keeping up with the tempo of the other deck. If you're setting the tempo of the game, your threats typically must be answered by the other deck and all you have to do is keep applying pressure. But if you're reacting, you have to have the right answers at the right time in order just to stay afloat, until you can turn the tide in your favor. And often, if you don't have the right answers, you'll fall too far too fast and won't be able to recover.

They don't come out together. Play Jace, bounce a creature. Next turn, Play Gideon, draw all attacks to him to protect Jace. From there, Jace runs train on everything while Gideon starts housing creatures.

It's a big part of how Super Friends plays. That is probably as expensive as a board can be, by the way, at about $125 with just two cards.

The full deck is $600-700 to assemble from scratch depending on where you go. The lands aren't as expensive as they were, though. Except fetches, they're about what you'd expect.
