View Full Version : Drafting
I drafted last night, and I came second (winning packs), after a string of very bad placings. I draft at least once a week. I had an awesome deck. Removal, creatures, a few bombs, and I did well! Here's the catch. The place I draft at ran out of Zendikar, so we had drafted M10. Turns out, I'm good at M10, but terrible at Zendikar limited. The problem with this, of course, is that I'll most likely never play M10 limited again.

You can always play online. If you can consistently get second (or first) then it's basically free.

Have you ever drafted online? They tend to be reaaaly good.

I drafted Zendikar a few days ago, going 1-2, but that's the first time I've drafted in like a year

I only did it a couples times because it was bad for my nerves (I'm kinda phobic about spending money in situations like that) but I actually made money when I did it, got first, second, first, fail I think. They're not that good, you're prolly just used to pre-release level of bad. I just found it not very fun because I didn't have a lot of income when I was doing it so if I scrubbed out it felt like a large blow. My mtgo rating was positive though at least.
If you're willing to drop cash on it the best choice is definitely sealed, prizes are super good if you win and if you crack money rares utilize the AH and blam. You prolly have to be pretty good there though because I hear that's where most people trying to make money via tourneys on mtgo go. The 8/0/0/0 drafts are decent for making bank too but too many people refuse to split that it's also pretty risky, the 4/3/1/0's are kinda nice cause there's no need to split and 2nd place probably breaks even with what you opened while first makes a bit of money.

I probably was on at bad times. Tended to go against high rated people.
I took your advice. So awesome. I've broke even so far, in fact I'm a tiny bit ahead.
