It looks like they made everything more bubbly and rounded, what I don't get then, is why they went to a more plain text look to thread and forum listings. It's like one one side they wanted it to look somewhat more futuristic, more 21st century, but then on the other they just massively downgraded it.

I really prefer minimalistic designs, and do think vB is too cluttered, but
A) yanking features out from under users is a bad thing
B) this isn't a good minimalistic design, it's ugly
C) requiring no spaces in usernames anywhere so that you have an easier time making URLs is fucking retarded (subjective).

On the other hand, they are running smoother. vB is pretty heavy, it doesn't scale as well as they needed. I could disregard (A) if they were competent in other regards, but alas...

a quick glance at the site has seems to indicate that whomever was responsible for this new site had a boneheaded, ignorant misunderstanding about the most basics ideas regarding internet development/security, and I would not be surprised if someone were able to get mod powers tonight.

I love how there is a huge platant white bar with all the avatars going down the side that covers up the background image but then bleeds over into the actual post. You can see the goddamn textbox, I've had powerpoint presentations look more fluid than that.

I can't believe anyone looked at that and thought it was good looking. Did they just say "WEB 2.0!!!!!" and then designed all this shit thinking that this is what people wanted?

vB had problems, especially for Wizards, but goddamn at least it looked alright.
